The control section of the endoscope is held with the left hand to ensure a stable monitor screen, and is held high to fix the tip of the endoscope. A Lutz-type metal-shaft nasal cotton applicator (Daiichi Medical Co., Ltd., Japan ) or a disposable aluminum-shaft nasal cotton applicator (Daiichi Medical Co., Ltd., Japan) is used. It is held and operated with a penholder grip in the right hand.
